'Lounging Ladies'  is an original artwork by Australian painter Aimee Rytenskild. It depicts four female figures huddled together in a group. The central figure lays reclined horizontally across the width of the canvas, with the three other figures perched behind her. Each woman is adorned with her own unique outfit, which feature clashing and bold patterns of native Australian flora, such as Gum Nuts, Kangaroo Paws and Banksia flowers. Each figure exhibits hair which is stringy and wild, reminiscent of tree roots. This serves as a physical connection between them and the natural environment, and alludes to the connection between 'femininity' and 'mother nature'.

The figures are surrounded by bold color tones and patterns that were inspired by Morrocan tiles, which juxtapose against the pattern on the figures.

This painting is part of a larger series of work that aims to explore the intrinsic relationship between societies associations of femininity and the environment, epitomised by the concept of 'mother nature'.
